Corporate Engineer

Klosterman Baking Company, a family owned leader in the baking industry with multi-plant operations in three Midwest states is seeking a Corporate Engineer to join our team. This key position is essential as Klosterman Baking Company continues to target growth and expansion within our organization.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead the maintenance and engineering departments; evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of processes and systems used in bakery operations. 

  • Assist in the development of annual capital budget requests. 

  • Support the increase of productivity through capital improvement, plant reliability, problem solving and increasing machine efficiencies.

  • Explore the application of new technologies as they relate to bakery operations.

  • Oversee that environmental and safety standards are met and necessary documentation current as it relates to OSHA, EPA and FDA. 

  • Development of high performance maintenance and engineering team by driving and supporting the creation of a process, including training/development, assessment, recognition/rewards and succession development/planning. Support the development of a high performance work place; recruiting, selecting and training a high quality supervisory workforce to meet company goals.

  • Develop and maintain a disciplined approach to compliance at all levels.  Assist in the development of all maintenance and engineering staff; including all KOP policies and safety procedures.

  • Perform routine plant visits to ensure all internal and external regulations and policies are met. 

  • Ensure preventive maintenance of company assets to reach corporate goals of reliability, utilizing resources such as, prevented maintenance, inventory control and the fundamentals of lean.  


Position Qualifications:


  • 5+ year bakery management experience, including development and implementation of capital projects and budgets. 

  • Minimum Associates Degree

    Strong communication skills.

    Highly skilled in computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications. 

    Familiarization with implementation and utilization of preventative maintenance systems.

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret blue prints, financial reports and legal documents. 

    Experience in

    Strong critical thinking skills and detailed-oriented. 

    Strong coaching and team-building skills.
